Lifelong Dade City resident Terri Reed will soon complete thirty years of service with the Dade City Police Department, the last nineteen as the Executive Assistant to the Police Chief.

Terri started her career with the Department in 1990 as a 911 Emergency Services Operator in the Communications Division. During this time, the City’s police and fire services were merged under the Department of Public Safety. In 1991, she attended the Firefighter Academy and also became an Emergency Medical Technician, working as a part-time Firefighter/EMT for Dade City Fire Rescue until 2003.

In 1995, Terri was promoted to Emergency Services Coordinator supervising the Communications Division. During her tenure as ESO Coordinator, she served as chairperson of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s FCIC Region 3 Working Group. In 1999, she was promoted to the position of Administrative Assistant. In 2011, Terri was promoted to the position of Executive Assistant to the Chief of Police.

Some of Terri’s achievement awards include the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars – ESO of the Year Award, The Life Saving Award, Community Service and Volunteer Award, the Chief’s Award and City of Dade City Employee of the Month.
