The Community Development Director is responsible for Planning and Zoning.  The Dade City Planning office within the City Manager’s Department is composed of one full time staff member, the Community Development Director, and a full time Development Review Technician. The Planning office is responsible for current planning (zoning issues), long range planning (Comprehensive Plan) and Community Development Block Grant coordination. The Community Development Director serves as the staff for the Planning Board, Board of Adjustment and Redevelopment Advisory Committee. The Community Redevelopment Agency is also assisted by the Community Development Director. Additional responsibilities include drafting ordinances, processing annexation, future land use map amendments and rezoning requests; reviewing alcohol license applications, occupational license applications, site plans, subdivision plats, building permits, sign applications and processing variances and special exceptions.  The Community Development Director also oversees the Building Department, as well as, Code Enforcement and Fire Safety Inspections.
