"The Dade City water system is committed to providing our communities with safe, clean drinking water.  As part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Lead and Copper Rule (2021 Revisions and 2024 Improvements), the City has been actively reviewing historical water service line records and any relevant documentation to identify all drinking water service line materials throughout the entire Dade City water service area, on both the utility and customer portions of the line.  An inventory of all service lines has been compiled to identify if any lead or galvanized service lines will require replacement.  The inventory may be accessed by following the link provided here to a community webpage.  Once on that webpage, you may search your address on the map and zoom in to click each point to view current identifications, complete the online self-identification survey, and view additional educational materials on why lead in drinking water matters, why it is important to complete this inventory, and steps to guide you through the identification process.

Although the inventory process is still ongoing, we have yet to identify any lead in the water system.  If your service line has been identified as an "Unknown" material status this does not mean that we believe your service line is made of lead, but rather that records do not exist or have not been located yet that confirm its material. However, because the status of your material is currently unknown, it is possible that it could be made of lead or galvanized pipe that was previously connected to lead.   If capable, each water customer is being asked to perform a self-identification of their property’s service line material.  If you are unable to self-identify, you may request the City's help at any time.  The Lead Service Line Inventory is a living document that will continue to be updated as new information is obtained and verified for every service line in our water system.
