UTILITIES CUSTOMER SERVICE CHANGES EFFECTIVE MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2020The way Dade City is accepting payments for utilities is temporarily changing. In response to the COVID-19 virus and keeping our residents and employees healthy, we will only accept payments through drop box located by the entrance or via electronic methods beginning Monday, March 23.
Envelopes and pens will be provided near the drop box for customers, but we encourage customers to use their own pen. Please write your name on the envelope, contact number, amount of payment you've placed in the envelope, and your due date. City staff will record the payments on the same business day you drop off (prior to 4:00 pm). If you pay in cash, please try to enclose the exact amount due. If you are owed change, you will see a credit for the amount on your next water bill statement.
If you are using one of our electronic payment methods, the City will waive the processing fees through this event.
As always, if you have questions, please reach out to our staff at 352-523-5050.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

City of Dade City Response to COVID-19 Concerns
City Commission and Administration Adjust Operations
Dade City, Florida - The health and welfare of our residents is of the utmost priority for the City of Dade City. The City has been closely monitoring COVID-19 and is taking steps to implement protocols suggested by State and Federal agencies. The City will continue to deliver essential services to residents and businesses, though starting today, some services will be limited to protect resident and employee health.
The City Commission declared a Local State of Emergency on Monday, March 16. This measure allows Dade City the flexibility to act quickly if needed. However, its primary purpose at this time is to allow the City to seek future reimbursement for costs incurred while we deal with this outbreak.
Non-essential meetings are postponed. The City Commission meeting scheduled for March 24, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. is cancelled. All meetings and use of Commission Chambers has been suspended until April 28, 2020, when the City expects to hold a City Commission regularly scheduled meeting.
Park facility rentals and special events are cancelled through April. Public bathrooms are closed. This includes the City Market Place scheduled for April 4. Staff will not process special event permits or parks reservations through April.
Beginning immediately, residents are encouraged to mail or pay their water bill online. Non-payment turn-offs are temporarily suspended.
For building permit and inspection services, the City is encouraging online permitting and either calling or emailing staff members with questions. All notary services are suspended until further notice, except for City-issued permits.
The Dade City Police Department has suspended all fingerprinting services and cancelled on-site meetings and tours.
The City’s leaders are working closely with Pasco County Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Health and the CDC to monitor the situation locally. We will be posting regular updates on our website at www.dadecityfl.com (link) and through social media posts.
The City encourages you to do your part, by following the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America (link), as well as the latest information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Florida Department of Health.
Dade City urges you to rely on official sources for information, and reminds you that practicing personal hygiene is your best defense:
- Wash your hands often with soap & water
- Cover your coughs & sneezes with your arm, not your hands
- If you’re sick, please stay home & avoid crowds
